When our founder arrived in London, she noticed something that didn't sit right. Thousands of South Asians living across the UK were paying premium prices for traditional clothing — lehengas, salwar kameez, sharara suits — that cost a fraction of that to produce back home in India.
“Brokers were taking advantage of the demand. The same dress costing pennies to make in Surat was being sold in London for ten times the price. We decided to cut them out entirely.”
With a family background in garment manufacturing in India, the path forward was clear. In 2016, Zahra London Limited was founded with one simple promise — bring the freshest South Asian designs straight from the Surat market to UK customers at honest, transparent prices.
